What Is the Free Standard Delivery?
One of the best deals you can get for your gift hampers at the Hamper Emporium is the free standard delivery. This option applies to all residents of Australia, so when you pick the free delivery option for your gift hampers, it will not cost you anything extra.
All our gift baskets are eligible for free standard delivery, so customers do not have to do anything extra to take advantage of this amazing deal. Naturally, the free standard delivery option can also be used by businesses, who want to send gift baskets to their business relations as a corporate gift.
Please note that the delivery time of your gift baskets may vary by your location. For example, residents of New South Wales may get their gift baskets sooner than customers residing in Darwin. Below, you can find an overview of estimated delivery times. However, please consider possible delays with the Australian post during the holiday season.
- Residents of New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland Metro: 1 to 3 business days.
- Residents of Tasmania and South Australia Metro: 3 to 5 business days.
- Residents of Perth, Darwin and other regional areas: 5 to 8 business days.
What Is the Express Delivery?
Our express delivery option is suitable for customers who need their gift baskets faster, or sometimes even the same day of ordering. Like our free standard delivery option, the delivery time of your hamper will depend on your location. Below, you can find an overview of estimated delivery times for customers choosing the express delivery option.
- Residents of Sydney Metro: same business day.
- Residents of Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth, Canberra and New South Wales: next business day.
- Residents of Darwin & areas situated outside major cities: 1 to 3 business days.
Please note that the time you’ve ordered your hamper can have an influence on the delivery time. If you order your hamper after 1 pm on a business day, the hamper will be shipped the next business day, since courier pick-ups are arranged around that time. Also, hampers ordered during the weekend are shipped on the next business day.
What Are Special Deliveries?
We understand that special delivery instructions are sometimes required to deliver your hamper to the right place. A good example of this is a customer who orders a beautiful hamper for a recipient currently residing in hospital. If you require your hamper to be delivered in hospital, or another location that requires additional instructions, be sure to use the special delivery instruction field on the checkout page.
Our special delivery instruction field allows you to enter any additional information for the courier. In this field, you can refer to a specific floor of an apartment block, but also instructions to leave your hamper at a reception desk. In some cases, you can leave a request to deliver at a specific time of day. However, we must state that special delivery instructions are the responsibility of the courier delivering your hamper. Therefore, we cannot guarantee with absolute certainty that your instructions will be followed.
The couriers delivering your gift hamper will try to deliver your parcel at an appropriate time. If you are not at home, the courier must leave instructions on how to schedule a re-delivery or provide you with an alternative location to pick up your hamper.
What Is Authorisation to Leave?
All our gift hampers are automatic labelled with the Authorisation to Leave Option, unless the customer states otherwise during the checkout process. The Authorisation to Leave Option means that the courier has your permission to leave your hamper with a neighbour, or in another secure location if he cannot make the delivery at a specific time.
Customers who have a secure location around their property can mention this in the special delivery instructions field. However, the Hamper Emporium nor the courier can be held responsible for loss or theft of your parcel if left unattended, so please make sure the location of your choice is reasonably secure to prevent these problems.
What Should I Know About the Delivery of Perishable Goods?
Many of our gourmet hampers contain perishable goods and some of the products demand extra care; this certainly includes our chocolate hampers. If our chocolate hampers are not kept at the right temperature during transport, it could have devastating consequences for your delivery; therefore, the Hamper Emporium takes great care when packaging and shipping chocolate hampers and other hampers containing perishable products.
Naturally, our chocolate hampers and other gourmet hampers are subject to quality control before they leave our warehouse. Only by maintaining a high level of quality control for chocolate hampers and gourmet hampers, can the Hamper Emporium guarantee the quality our customers deserve and require.
Of course, once you receive a hamper with perishable goods, it is important to store that gift basket properly. Keep the gift basket in a cool and dry location until you gift it to your recipient; this will keep the items inside safe.
Why Was My Hamper Returned to the Hamper Emporium?
Sometimes gift hampers can be returned to us if the recipient or customer was not able to receive the package and has not responded to a re-delivery request or picked up the package from the post office or newsagent. Deliveries can also be returned when the address of the customer is incorrect, or when a recipient staying in the hospital has already checked out.
When a hamper is returned to the Hamper Emporium, our customer support team will notify you by sending an email within one week of receiving your order back in the warehouse. Please note that a re-delivery fee will apply to deliver the hamper again, so please double-check your address when checking out your gift hamper or contact the Hamper Emporium right away if you believe there is a problem with delivery.
